Install Osmium Coder

Osmium Coder is a native desktop application. You need a free account to download it — an email code, no card — and after that everything on local models is free and unmetered.

Download

  1. 01Create a free account with your email address. You will get a one-time code rather than a password to remember.
  2. 02Open the download page and pick your platform. Files are named OsmiumCoder.
  3. 03Install as usual: drag to Applications on macOS, run the installer on Windows, or make the AppImage executable on Linux.
  4. 04Open the app once, then finish the account link with the code shown on the download page or via Settings → Account.

macOS says the app is damaged

Browsers quarantine downloaded disk images. After dragging Osmium Coder into Applications, clear the quarantine attribute once:

xattr -cr '/Applications/Osmium Coder.app' && open '/Applications/Osmium Coder.app'

Windows SmartScreen warning

The Windows build is not Authenticode-signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn on first run. Choose More info, then Run anyway. We would rather tell you this than have you wonder.

Updates

The app checks for updates on launch and periodically while running, then installs in place. There is nothing to re-download manually.
